    Tables & Chairs R Us has specific policies and procedures to protect its merchandise, and it's crucial for customers to understand and follow them to avoid additional fees or disputes. Here's a  breakdown of our return policies and care instructions for Tables & Chairs R Us rental merchandise:

     

    I. General Return Policy

     

    • Timeliness: Rental periods are for The time period of the rental agreement. The customer is responsible for returning all items on or before the agreed-upon return date and time. Late returns often incur additional fees, sometimes the full rental rate for each day the item is late.

    • No Refunds for Unused Items: The rental fee is for the time the items are out, not for the time they are used. 

    • Original Condition: Items must be returned in the same condition as they were received, with the exception of reasonable wear and tear. Customers are responsible for any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning required.

    • Packaging and Organization: It is standard practice to return items in the same containers, crates, racks, or bags they were delivered in. This includes proper stacking of tables and chairs, and placing dishes, glassware, and flatware back in their designated racks or containers. Missing packaging can result in replacement fees.

     

    II. Care Instructions & Customer Responsibility

     

    The customer is responsible for all rented equipment from the time of delivery or pickup until it is returned. This includes protection from theft, damage, and weather.

    General Care:

    • Weather Protection: Protect all rental items from rain, wind, and other elements. This is especially important for furniture, linens, and tents. If a rain plan is not in place, the rental company may have the right to cancel delivery.

    • No Modifications: Do not attach anything to the rental items with tape, staples, glue, or other adhesives. You will be charged a cleaning fee to remove any residue or damage.

    • Proper Use: Use the equipment only for its intended purpose. Misuse, such as using a chair as a step stool or a piece of decor as a table, can lead to damage and additional charges.

    • Site Preparation: Ensure the event site is ready for delivery and setup, with clear access for the rental company's staff and vehicles.

    Specific Item Care:

    • Linens:

      • Shake out linens to remove all food, debris, and other particles.

      • Do not wash or launder rented linens yourself.

      • Place them in the provided laundry bags when wet or soiled to prevent mildew. Do not put them in plastic bags.

      • Excessive stains, burns, tears, or permanent damage (e.g., from wax or grease) can result in a replacement fee.

    • Dishes, Glassware, and Flatware:

      • Rinse all items to remove food and debris.

      • Re-pack them neatly in their original racks or containers.

    • Concession and Catering Equipment:

      • Clean machines and equipment thoroughly to remove all food, grease, oil, and debris. Companies often charge a specific cleaning fee if these items are returned dirty.

     

    III. Damage, Loss, and Additional Fees

     

    Event rental companies are very clear about what constitutes damage and what fees will be applied.

    • Damage/Loss: The customer is responsible for the full repair or replacement cost of any lost, stolen, or damaged items. This includes:

      • Unrepairable damage (e.g., excessive tears in fabric, broken furniture).

      • Damage due to neglect, misuse, or vandalism.

      • Items that are lost or stolen.

    • Damage Waiver: Tables & Chairs R Us offer an optional, non-refundable damage waiver (e.g., 10% of the rental cost). This waiver typically covers accidental damage and soiling that can be remedied. However, it usually does not cover loss, theft, vandalism, or damage from neglect. It's essential to read the specific terms of the damage waiver to understand what is and isn't covered.

    • Cleaning Fees: If items are not returned in the condition specified in the contract (e.g., dishes not rinsed, equipment not wiped down), a minimum cleaning fee will be applied. This can be a flat fee or charged per item.

    • Labor & Access Fees: Additional fees may be charged if:

      • Items need to be carried a long distance from the delivery vehicle.

      • Setup or takedown involves stairs or elevators.

      • The customer is not present at the agreed-upon time for delivery or pickup, causing a delay.
